Weymouth Library January Art Exhibition - Boats, Oceans & Flowers

This exhibit features the beautiful watercolours of artist Diane Nadon.

1pm Digby Station, 7 Birch Street.


Thur Jan 23 – 25 Craft Supply Swap

Meteghan Library during open hours. Clean out your stash of craft supplies you’re not going to use and swap them for supplies you can use. Drop off unwanted, usable items during open hours starting Thursday, Jan. 23. On Saturday, Jan. 25, the swap will be open for everyone to take home some crafting goodies. Leftover items will be given to local organizations. Drop off only on Jan. 23 and 24.


Fri Jan 24 Family Literacy Day: Learn to Be Green Together

3 – 4pm Digby Library. Children aged 5 to 12 and their families can celebrate Family Literacy Day with exciting activities presented by Waste Check. This year's theme is Learn to Be Green Together.


Sat Jan 25 Deep-Brook Waldec Lions Breakfast

7 – 10 am Adults $15, Children 5 – 12 $7, Under 5’s free.


Sat Jan 25 8-ball Tournament – Lloyd Smith Memorial

Sun Jan 26 Weymouth Canada Day Committee AGM

2pm Weymouth Mercantile. Volunteers desperately needed to help keep the tradition of Weymouth Canada Day alive.


Mon Jan 27 Sporting Gear Swap

5-5:45pm drop off. 6-8:30pm swap. Upper Clements Hall, 2951 Hwy 1.


Tue Jan 28 Get Help Finding Work!

1 – 4pm Meteghan Library. A case manager from Nova Scotia Works (CDÉNÉ) will be at the library to provide help in finding employment, career options, building a resumé, and more.


Wed Jan 29 Food Insecurity in our Communities

2 – 3pm Digby Library. Join Public Health Nutritionists Jane Cunningham and Heather Baillie to learn about the root causes of food insecurity, dispel some common myths, understand the current situation in Nova Scotia and the Tri Counties, and discuss strategies to improve food security in our community.


Wed Jan 29 Digby Book Club

6:30 – 8pm Digby Library. Join Colleen Humbert for a lively and in-depth discussion of recent Irish novels. This month’s choice is Nora Webster by Colm Tóibín.

Fri Jan 31 The Count of Monte Cristo

Wed Feb 05 A Complete Unknown

7pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, Indie, Drama, Biography, Music. 14A. $10.95 Adult $6.95 Youth (under 18). New York, 1961. Against the backdrop of a vibrant music scene and tumultuous cultural upheaval, an enigmatic 19-year-old from Minnesota arrives with his guitar and revolutionary talent, destined to change the course of American music. Sat Feb 08 Mufasa: The Lion King

3pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, Hollywood,  Adventure, Family. $10.95 Adult $6.95 Youth (under 18). “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka–the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny–their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.

Wed Feb 19 Sing Sing

7pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, Indie, Drama. 14A. $10.95 Adult $6.95 Youth.
