Weymouth Library January Art Exhibition - Boats, Oceans & Flowers

This exhibit features the beautiful watercolours of artist Diane Nadon.

Mon Jan 13 Auditions for Grease

6pm King’s Theatre. Anyone interested in being part of this show can come out to auditions on January 13th at 6pm and Wednesday January 15th at 6pm. We’re seeking singers & dancers of ALL GENDERS to bring this interactive movie feature to life (14+, all folks welcome).


Tue Jan 14 Kids Craft Night: Button Making

6-7pm Meteghan Library Children can design and make their own buttons.

Weymouth Library February Exhibition – Colourful Canvases

This exhibit features the work of Zita Boudreau and Phillip Clairmont. The paintings follow the theme of nature in oil and acrylic paints on canvas. Zita Boudreau truly enjoys being out in nature while creating her art. Phillip Clairmont, a retired teacher, enjoy the outdoors and paints for fun. The exhibit can be viewed during open hours in February.


Tue Feb 04 LEGO Spike

6 – 7:30pm Meteghan Library. Children aged 6 and up can have fun building and coding with LEGO Spike sets.


Sun Feb 09 Macbeth

3pm King’s Theatre, Stage to Screen, Theatre. TICKETS:  $15.95  Unsettling intimacy and brutal action combine at breakneck speed as Max Webster (Life of Pi, Henry V) directs this tragic tale of love, murder, and nature’s power of renewal. With staging ‘full of wolfish imagination and alarming surprise’ (★★★★★ The Guardian), the immersive 5.1 cinema surround sound places the audience inside the minds of the Macbeths, asking are we ever really responsible for our actions?


Tue Feb 11 Rock Painting

6-7pm Meteghan Library. All ages can enjoy an evening of painting on rocks. Register no later than Saturday, Feb. 8 to ensure enough supplies by contacting the library.

Wed Feb 12 The Room Next Door

7pm King’s Theatre. Film, Indie. Drama PG $10.95 Adult. $6.95 Youth (under 18). Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth, when they worked together at the same magazine. Ingrid went on to become an autofiction novelist while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation.

Fri Feb 21 Sleepy-time Story Time

10:30 – 11am Digby Library. Have a lazy morning and come to the library in your pyjamas! Bring your favourite stuffed friend and cozy blanket to cuddle up for stories, songs, and activities. This program is for children five and under with their caregivers.


Sat Feb 22 Comedy, Music & Magic

7:30pm King’s Theatre. Live Theatre. $35 Adult. $10 Youth. Award-winning comedian & country artist RORY GARDINER and award-winning magician VINCENZO RAVINA, together in one incredible show.


Wed Feb 26 Digby Book Club: This is Happiness

6:30 – 8pm Digby Library. Join Colleen Humbert for a lively and in-depth discussion of recent Irish novels. This month’s choice is This is Happiness by Niall Williams. Participants were to register no later than Thursday, Jan. 2 by contacting the library to ensure enough books are available. This program is for adults.


Weymouth Library March Art Exhibition – Scenes for the Acadian Shore

This photography exhibit features the beautiful work of Catherine LeBlanc, featuring vistas from the Clare and Weymouth area. The exhibit can be viewed during open hours in March. The photos were taken using an iPhone. LeBlanc loves cloudy skies paired with water views, of which the region has many.

3 – 4pm Digby Library. Children aged 7-11 can explore the wonders of science through exciting, themed experiments. Register by Tuesday, March 4 by contacting the library.

Sun Mar 09 Therrian-Go Duo

3pm King’s Theatre. Live Classical Music. $30 Adult. $10 Youth. With an innate connection that electrifies the stage, their music is a mesmerizing fusion of thought-provoking interpretation, innovative collaboration, and a sincere dedication to community engagement, both near and far. Created by cellist Daniel Hamin Go and pianist Jean-Luc Therrien, the Therrien-Go Duo’s fortuitous encounter occurred in the illustrious setting of the Rebanks Family Fellowship and International Residency Program at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Their convergence forged a dynamic partnership that has since captivated audiences across Canada.


Tue Mar 11 March Break Bash

2 – 4pm Meteghan Library. Chase away the winter blues during this summer-themed party. Children can play summer-time games, including golf with Sphero robots, and enjoy yummy snacks.


Tue Mar 11 Clean Foundation: Water Ways

4-5pm Weymouth Library. Dive into how water moves in our natural world. Learn through observation, experimentation and condensation. A stream of experiments will get you in the flow and thinking about the properties of water. A fun and engaging game will get you moving and circulating. This program is for children aged 5 to 10 years and registration is not required. It will be first-come first-served as there is room for 30 participants. This program is in partnership with Clean Foundation.


Tue Mar 11 Chris Funk: The Wonderist

7:30pm King’s Theatre. Magic, Music & Comedy. $35 Adult. $15 Youth (under 18). From Masters of Illusion, Fool Us, Wizard Wars and Americas Got Talent, CHRIS FUNK combines magic and music with hilarious comedy in an engaging and visceral multimedia experience that has audiences talking and scratching their heads for years to come.

1-2pm Digby Library. See the water cycle as you never have before! Dive into how water moves in our natural world, through observation, experimentation and condensation. Thur Mar 13 Clean Foundation: Buzzing with Life

10-11am Meteghan Library. Through interactive games and activities, learn about critter connections. Discover the needs of diverse local species at risk, from the mighty moose to the mini monarch. Donning their naturalist bandanas, youth will get to practice their citizen scientist skills. They will learn about habitat observation using both Western and Mi’kmaw ways of knowing. This program is for children aged 5 to 10 years. No registration required. It will be first-come first-served as there is room for 30 participants. This program is in partnership with Clean Foundation. This program is in English.


Fri Mar 14 Aysanabee

7:30pm King’s Theatre. Indigenous Music. $35 Adult. $10 Youth (under 18). Join two-time JUNO Award-winning Oji-Cree artist Aysanabee (Ace-in-abbey) on his first-ever Canadian headlining tour, Now & Then. Following two incredible support tours with Allison Russell and Dan Mangan, as well as countless global festival appearances, it is now time for Aysanabee to take center stage and share his powerful music—including the radio hit singles “Nomads,” “We Were Here,” and “Somebody Else”—along with his engaging storytelling.


Sat Mar 22 Duane Andrews and the Hot Club of Conception Bay

7:30pm King’s Theatre. Music. $30 Adult. $10 Youth (under 18). The Juno award winning composer, arranger, producer, conductor and globetrotting performer’s latest album is the best evidence yet of his inimitable musical vision and is the sound of him, literally, bringing it all back home. He’ll be joined by the hottest swing band in the bay The Hot Club of Conception Bay which features Erin Power (vocals/mandolin) and Isaac Andrews Power (fiddle/bass).


Tue Mar 25 Mandala Colouring

6 – 7pm Meteghan Library. All ages can enjoy a relaxing evening of colouring mandalas.


Wed Mar 26 Digby Book Club

Sat Mar 29 Grease

7:30pm King’s Theatre. Film & Live Show. Adults $25.00. Youth: $10.00. Tickets for this electric extravaganza will allow you to experience the classic musical comedy while singing (and heckling) along. Come enjoy this well-loved film the way it was intended: cheering & jeering along to Look At Me I’m Sandra Dee at the top of your lungs, and dancing to Born To Hand Jive in the aisles. The best costumes will score amazing prizes!
