Fri Dec 6 and Sat 7 and Sun 8 Dick Whittington & His Cat

Dec 6 and 7 at 7:30 pm. Dec 8 at 3pm. King’s Theatre. Community Theatre. Adult $20. Youth $5. Join our hero, Dick Whittington, as he embarks upon an adventure to seek his fortune in Ye Olde London Towne, where “the streets are paved with gold”. With Terry R. Francis’ hilarious and fast-paced script, Dick and his faithful cat must thwart the wicked schemes of King Rat (“Boo! Hiss!”) and his Rodent Army, to save the Londoners from tyranny, and bring ‘happiness ever after’ to his friends and family. Directed by Annapolis District Drama Group stalwart Simon Bonnington and starring many of your best-loved local actors, you are sure to be right royally entertained!

Sat Dec 7 The Polar Express

10:30 am King’s Theatre. Film – Family, Animation, Holiday. Free. G.  Santa will be present for our annual FREE Christmas movie! Tom Hanks and director Robert Zemeckis (“Forrest Gump”; “Cast Away”) reunite for “Polar Express,” an inspiring adventure based on the beloved children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg. When a doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

Tue Dec 10 Twelve Days of Christmas

6-7:30pm Weymouth Library. Children aged 6 to 12 can enjoy a fun-filled evening of games, snacks and stories with the theme of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Space is limited so register no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 by contacting the library.


Tue Dec 10 Healthy Eating on a Budget

6-7:30pm Meteghan Library Registered dietician Kaitlyn Comeau will discuss how to eat healthier, more balanced meals while not breaking the bank. Space is limited to 16 people and is for adults. Register no later than Friday, Dec. 6 by contacting the library. This program was made possible thanks to a food literacy grant from Nova Scotia Provincial Library.


Tue Dec 10 Joel Plaskett (New Date)

Wed Dec 11 Service Canada Information Session

1pm – 2pm Digby Library.  Join Craig Moulaison from Service Canada to learn about some of the programs and services available. He will be discussing Employment Insurance, Social Insurance Numbers, Canada Pension Plan/Old Age Security, Passports, and Canadian Dental Care Plan. The session incudes a question-and-answer period at the end.
